How many wedding receptions have you performed at?
The Hot Traxx DJ’s performed over 900 wedding receptions. We generally perform about 40-50 per year.
May I see you perform at a wedding reception?
No. Our policy is NOT to allow viewing of our services at wedding receptions or other private functions. These functions are just that “PRIVATE”. It would be unfair and unethical of me to allow a stranger to "pop-in" and watch, even for a few minutes. It would give the impression that I care more about the "next sale" rather than the party in front of me. I would much rather lose a booking than allow my services to be compromised at ANY private function.
How much do you charge?
There are so many factors that go into pricing. Hot Traxx provides many services and the cost depends on the needs of the customer. Hot Traxx strives to serve our customer the highest quality of entertainment at the most affordable price.
Are you limited to only 4 or 5 Hours because you have another wedding?
In most cases NO! A lot of the time the venue dictates the time allotted for a wedding reception.
How early do you arrive prior to a wedding reception?
Hot Traxx DJ’s arrival time is generally 30-90 minutes prior and setup is complete between 15-30 minutes before stated contract time. Any extra time required outside of 90 minutes will be charged a nominal early set-up fee of $50 per hour (rounded to nearest hour).
What do you wear to a wedding reception?
Hot Traxx will always dress in appropriate formal attire according to the event and the wishes of the client. For weddings and school proms, we will always be dressed in a tuxedo unless otherwise requested.
I’ve heard horror stories of drunk DJs, and DJs who smoke like a chimney. Do you do either of those?
Hot Traxx DJ’s ABSOLUTELY DO NOT! It is truly a sign of an unprofessional DJ to smoke and/or drink while on the job.
How many people will be needed to help the DJ?
NONE! When extra personnel are needed, we will send help.
Will the DJ act as a master of Ceremony?
Yes, if that is what you prefer (90-95% do).
Are you able to play continuous music?
Yes...the music never stops unless otherwise requested.
How much music do you have?
Hot Traxx DJ’s carry’s about 22,000 tracks (and counting) from the 30's to the present and continue to add at least 70 new tracks every month! You can see the music list here this sight.
I don't have a computer at home and I'm not allowed to print out your HUGE music list. Can you send me a paper copy?
Yes Hot Traxx can. But it will be an abridged version because it is free of charge.
Do you use any theatrical lighting?
Yes! The charge is $50 extra for standard party lights, $100 for a larger light show with many effects.
Does the DJ need a draped table for the equipment?
We do require two tables in an "L" and skirting.
Are there any special needs for your equipment?
Not usually, if we need extra power for bigger system it will state so in your paper work.
It is possible to get a demo tape?
No. A tape would be too easy too manipulate and I could make myself look like a DJ God if I so desired.
Hot Traxx wants you to have an honest opinion and view about us and the services we offer. To that end, many past clients have graciously given us permission to post their phone numbers for you to contact them and also there are many testimonials about our services
How many breaks will you take, how often, and for how long?
Hot Traxx DJ’s do not break during your reception or function as the music remains continuous.
What happens if your DJ gets sick or some tragic event happens in their life, do we have a backup?
YES! There are backups with experience at the ready. You will NOT be left stranded without music at your wedding reception!
Do you Sub-Contract your work out?
NO! Our Name, Hot Traxx, is on the line! We only use trained professionals DJ ‘s for our staff. When you hire us, you hire the best! We’ve been in business since 1981. Once you contact Hot Traxx, you’ll pick the DJ and will only deal with that person. We do NOT send an inexperienced friend or contractor to "cover" your wedding reception.
You paid for Experience and that's what you get with Hot Traxx DJ Service! If that DJ is unable to do your wedding reception, We will REFER another Hot Traxx Disc Jockey with similarly high standards.
I would like to have two DJ's at my reception. Is that possible?
Yes, subject to availability! The extra charge will be $299 for five hours.
The second DJ could be blending the music as the other mingle and make sure that requests are played, the reception events flow smoothly etc.
Or, the second DJ could be a dance leader (YMCA, Conga, Macarena, etc.)
What does your equipment consist of?
Only professional Disc Jockey Equipment supplied by our Store Sight And Sound Electronics.
Backups for all in case of failure.
